Pastor C. Alan Greene and his wife Cheri came to us here at the Thomasville Church of God on
September 26, 2010. For the past 14 years, he has served as lead pastor leading each department under
the leadership of the Holy Spirit. He has proven to us and to others that in ministry people matter,
regardless of their age. He is just as comfortable with our” Golden Club” senior group
all the way down to the children’s department, sharing his motto that the Lord gave him upon coming to
Thomasville: “Building a Bridge of Hope… from One Generation to Another”. Psalms 45:4
reflects this mission and purpose.
Prior to coming to Thomasville, Pastor Greene served a congregation in Monroe, NC for seven
and a half years. He moved there from his native home of Clyde, NC. In July 1990, at 27, he planted the New Hope Church of God in Waynesville, NC where he served for 13 years. He dedicated his heart to the Lord at the age of 18 then started preaching the gospel at the age of 22. He was credentialed as an Exhorter Minister in 1989, became a Licensed Minister in 1991, and then Ordained as a Minster in 1996. He has served the WNC C.o.G on their Youth and Discipleship Board as well as the C.o.G. State Council Member as Chairman. He is currently serving on the WNC Churches of God as a State Council Member 2022-2024 and has served as a Minister in the Church of God for 39 years.
Pastor Greene graduated from Pisgah High School in 1981, then graduated from Haywood Community College, with a degree in Welding Technology. He has two children, four beautiful grandchildren, and has been married to the love of his life, Cheri, for 41 years.
Please feel free to come and meet our Pastor and his wife and become part of this beautiful congregation at the Thomasville Church of God.
